Butter Sessions
BUTTER SESSIONS 15TH ANNIVERSARY TOKYO Presented by GOLDEN
Butter Sessions, one of the leading labels in Australia's dance music scene, celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2026. Having taken its anniversary world tour from its home city of Melbourne to destinations around the globe, the label will bring the celebration to WWW X in Shibuya, Tokyo, on Saturday, November 21, 2026.
At the heart of Butter Sessions is Melbourne duo Sleep D. For the past 15 years, they have maintained a deeply rooted local label, keeping the spirit of Australia's underground scene alive while developing and refining their own distinctive interpretation of rave music, moving fluidly between techno, trance, dub, house, and electro.
Their reputation has steadily grown through collaborations with Sebastian Mullaert's Circle Of Live project, appearances at Boiler Room and Love International, and releases on Kalahari Oyster Cult. Their return to Japan comes at a significant milestone in their journey.
Butter Sessions is also a label that has long cultivated connections with Japanese artists. In April 2026, artists from Japan were invited to Melbourne for the label's 15th anniversary celebration, bringing the two countries' music scenes together for a special night. That ongoing exchange now continues in Tokyo.
The Tokyo event will be co-hosted by GOLDEN - 豪流伝 - by GOLDENTIME, a party series dedicated to connecting the music scenes of Japan and Australia. Having previously brought artists such as Kia, Reptant, and Roza Terenzi to Japan, this marks the first time the series has invited an entire label. The lineup will be announced at a later date.
