etherがアムステルダムからブラジル出身のアヴァン・ポップ・アーティストLYZZAをゲストに迎え、フルパワーでカムバック！

ether(エーテル)はポッドキャストの配信も交えながらLociとsudden starによる不定期にパーティ•マルチ目的イベントをお届けするコレクティブ。去年一年間のゆるい休みを経て、コアメンバーのspeedy lee genesisがDJ活動休止後、２人でエーテルを続けることに。今回はフルパワーでカムバック。

去年末にベルギーのネオEDMプロデューサーDJのBugasmurfや韓国クィアシーンのアイコンkittyらを渋谷Camelotにて招聘、年明けにはレーベルc-やオルタナティブミュージックプラットフォームnina protocolから絶賛を受けるアムステルダムのレーベルSeedlink+とコラボイベントを果たす。5月にはフットワークのレジェンドDJ PAYPALやエクスペリメンタルポップシンガー没 aka NGSらとパーティを新宿スペースにて開催。今年の秋はコンサートの主催を予定している。

今度はブラジル生まれアムステルダム拠点、特筆すべきアヴァン・ポップ・アーティストのLYZZAをゲストに迎える。16歳からDJキャリアをはじめ、アンダーグランドに足場を置きつつ、ファッションハウスへの楽曲提供や、オーディオ作品まで手を掛けるマルチタレントな彼女は今年の4月にDazedからリリースしたミックスのインタビューで語る。「社会構造があって、それにアンチすることが日常だと受け入れる現状。だから第三の場所から生まれるソリューションをいつも考えている。破壊がコンスタントであるように。」一人の女性としてもパワーを感じる彼女は、ブラジルをルーツとする音楽から、ファーストワールドプロダクションまでインスピレーションにし、リズムやテンポの再構築、力の漲るボーカルでどの雲にも銀の裏地をつけさせるようなパフォーマーだ。ローカルからはメジャーな場所に拠点を構えつつパーソナルに試行錯誤をし続け、全て曝け出すようで潜めた魅力をフロアに響かせる、エクスペリメンタルポップシンガーのYoyou、スケートショップで働く傍にペインターとしても名を馳せるiz、２丁目のライジングスターRUKEと一緒に。

つながりの感覚を追い求めるLYZZAは、情報化時代の音楽を通して世界を築き、帰属意識への道を切り開いてきた。インターネットに音楽をアップロードすることから始まり、16歳でアムステルダムのクラブで密かにDJを始めたLYZZAは、瞬く間にBerghain、ALL、DC10といった国際的なクラブへの道を切り開いた。それ以来、LYZZAはアンダーグラウンドのプリンセスとして、また「音楽の未来を形作るアーティストの一人」として、オルト・ミュージックとクラブ・シーンにその名を轟かせている。2017年、LYZZAはEP「PowerPlay」でエレクトロニック・シーンのブレイクを果たした。LYZZAはデビュー・アルバムの陰影あるクラブ・アンセムから、オルタナティヴ・ポップの一連のリリースへと進み、2019年の「DEFIANCE」EPのリード・シングル「Neverland」では、Hot ChipのJoe GoddardとJungleのTom McFarlandを起用するなど、リリシストが最も傷つきやすく、コラボレーターとしての才能を証明した。

現在、Big Dadaからミックステープ「MOSQUITO」をリリースしているLYZZAは、Sonar、Melt！、Pukkelpop、MontreuxJazz Festival、Dour、Primavera Soundなどの有名フェスティバルに出演し、その傑出したパフォーマンスでヨーロッパ中を駆け巡り、プロデューサーとしてアヴァンギャルド音楽界での存在感を確固たるものにしている。最近では、ShowstudioやMuglerとのコラボレーションから、ビルボードにノミネートされた歌姫Emel Mathlouthiのプロデュース、ロンドンのサーペンタイン・ギャラリーでの初オーディオ作品の展示など、音の世界を縦横無尽に駆け巡り、その芸術的才能をさらに発揮している。

LYZZAは、エレクトロニック・ミュージック界で最も有望な若手アヴァン・ポップ・プロデューサーの一人として広く賞賛され、その結果、Mykki Blanco、Nicolas Jaar、John Frusciante、故SOPHIEなど、先進的な考えを持つミュージシャンたちから注目されている。

Chasing a sense of connection, LYZZA has been world-building and paving her way towards a sense of belonging through music in the age of information. It started at uploading music to the internet and secretly deejaying at 16 in clubs in Amsterdam, to which LYZZA quickly paved her way to international clubs like Berghain, ALL and DC10. Since then LYZZA has been building a name for herself in the Alt-music and club scene as the princess of the underground, and 'one of the artists shaping the future of music'- Crack Magazine. In 2017, LYZZA broke through the electronic scene with her EP 'PowerPlay', a fierce experimental club record that made its way onto the runway soundtracks of fashion brands.

2018 saw LYZZA move on from the shadowy club anthems of her debut record to a string of Alternative-Pop releases which saw the lyricist at her most vulnerable and proved her chops as a collaborator, as she tapped Hot Chip's Joe Goddard and Jungle's Tom McFarland for the 2019 'DEFIANCE' EP lead single, 'Neverland'.

Now also having released the 'MOSQUITO' mixtape through Big Dada, LYZZA has cemented her presence in the avant-garde music world as a producer with standout performances which have taken her across Europe, where she has performed at high-profile festivals such as Sonar, Melt!, Pukkelpop, Montreux Jazz Festival, Dour and Primavera Sound. More recently, she's been traversing the sonic world, further showcasing her artistic potency with multiple collaborations ranging from Showstudio and Mugler to producing for billboardnominated songstress Emel Mathlouthi and showcasing her first audio-piece at London's Serpentine Gallery.

LYZZA has been widely hailed as one of electronic music's most promising young avant-pop producers, resulting in her being tapped by other forward thinking musicians such as Mykki Blanco, Nicolas Jaar, John Frusciante and the late SOPHIE; Known for bringing a cool edge, LYZZA has been the key to breathing fresh air into Indie and Electronic music alongside those peers and mocking its boundaries through experimentation, always forward pushing sounds and their structures- with her feet solidated in the underground.
